Configuration for Thunderbird 3.1.* for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux

Note: The following documentation has been made for Mac OS X. If for others Systems (Linux, Windows) there are differences, they will we explained separately.

Start "Thunderbird" and select from the menu "Tools" > "Account Settings..." (for Linux the menu is different: "Edit" > "Account Settings..."; see screenshot):

Then select "Add Mail Account..." as show below:

Enter your Fullname, your nethz username and you nethz password and click on "Continue":

Wait some seconds and click on "Edit":

Change the Port for IMAP from 143 to 993 and also the connection security type from STARTTLS to SSL/TLS and cklick on "Re-test Configuration":

Then click on create "Create Account":

And finally change the "Email Address" with your default one, something like firstname.lastname@math.ethz.ch and click on "OK"

You are done!!
