Motivic integration and some recent applications in representation
We sketch how the theory of motivic integration has ripened after its
invention by Kontsevich in 1996, we indicate why and how some parts of
model theory play an important role in several theories of integration,
and we sketch some recent applications of motivic integration to
representation theory and the Langlands program, without detailing on
this program.
The talk will be for non-specialists in the theory of motivic
integration.
